My forays into architectural modelling using Lego have got more serious! My latest creation is a scale replica of the BALTIC art gallery in Gateshead, and is currently on display at Woodhorn Colliery as part of their BrickPlanet2015 exhibition. After that, around June, it will move to the BALTIC itself.

Lego modelling seems very connected to my career as an architectural photographer, and it’s exciting to have another medium with which to interact with and represent architecture. I have set up a new website under the brand Brick This where you can see more about my Lego projects. If you’d like to discuss working with me on a Lego commission please feel free to drop me a line!

Silver Award at BIPP national awards

9th February 2015

Really pleased to announce that I won a Silver award at the national BIPP Awards held at the beautiful Hartwell House in Aylesbury last Thursday. I entered my range of Deconstructions into the Visual Arts Category – the portfolio of 5 images can be seen below. The BIPP use a standardised grading system comparable year on year, meaning there won’t necessarily be any Golds awarded. This year my Silver was the highest award in this category, which kind of means it was first place….!

My Limited Edition Deconstructions are available at The Biscuit Factory gallery in Newcastle, and through my online shop North East Exposure.

Busy busy busy

31st January 2015

The year has started off brilliantly with one of the busiest months I’ve ever had, largely down to two large projects for Turner and Townsend and Sunderland City Council, plus a few other jobs thrown in. Some great light this time of year too – here are some of my favourite shots from the last few weeks.

Sunderland Aquatic Centre

19th January 2015

An incredibly busy start to 2015, which I’m not complaining about. Some great sites too, including Sunderland Aquatic Centre, part of a project for the Council entitled Celebrating Sunderland.
